Head Coach Kurt Knoper: Coach Kurt loves coaching kids as they grow into competitive athletes, and has given us 11 years of coaching here at CSC, this year taking the returns as Head Coach. He is looking forward to fast swims and lots of cheers this summer!
As a child Kurt was thrown into the pool to sink or swim by his loving parents; started as an age group swimmer in Zeeland and continued through high school and onto college as a OU Golden Grizzly. There he met his wife Chris, they now have two kids Jack and Libby, and call CSC their summer home.
Kurt has a Masters Degree in Education and is a proud Berkshire Wildcat math teacher. He has coached many teams and sports. He is currently the Head Swim coach for the Berkshire MS boys and girls teams, assistant coach at Atlantis (BBA), and Michigan Water Polo coach.

Betsey McLachlan: This is my 28th summer coaching at CSC. I grew up swimming at BHAC and continued to swim through college for GVSU. Currently I teach Third Grade in Waterford and I also coach for Atlantis (BBA).
I haves 2 kids who participate on our swim team here at CSC, Aidan and Lilly. Cranbrook is my favorite place to be. Let’s have a great season!

Finley Rijnovean: This is my second summer coaching at CSC. As a former CSC swimmer of 12 years, I feel truly blessed to coach for the same team that I started my swimming career with. Growing up I also swam for Atlantis (BBA) and went to Seaholm High School where I swam all four years. I currently attend Michigan State University, where I just finished up my Sophmore year studying business. I’ve made so many great memories with this team as a swimmer and can’t wait to make many more as a coach this summer!
Will Dinkeloo: I am joining for my first summer coaching at CSC. I swam in the summer for 12 years right here: which is where I got my start with swimming and eventually learned to love it. I was also a captain of the Groves High School swim team where I swam breaststroke and IM. It was there that I learned all that I could from my amazing coaches and my fellow swimmers, as well as earned two state championships. I am heading into my junior year at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where I am studying Economics with a focus on Accounting. I am a captain of the water polo team there, where I’ve played in the Big Ten and National championship tournaments, and also as coach for the local club team, Wolverine Water Polo. I got my swim coaching start last year with Red Run Golf Club, but I’m incredibly excited to be back home at CSC!
Leah Marchiando: I grew up swimming at Cranbrook where I swam for 13 years, developing my love for the sport and the team atmosphere. Now in my 4th year coaching, I continue to dive deeper into my love for the sport, but on the other side of the deck. I’m passionate about helping swimmers gain confidence and build the lifelong friendships that Cranbrook has given me throughout the years.
